Reports don’t say that this accident took place inside a bike lane or a crosswalk. It is important to note that, while many roads have clearly marked paths for pedestrians and cyclists, drivers still have a responsibility to avoid accidents whenever possible, regardless of who might be in the wrong. I’m not saying the driver in this accident did anything wrong. The truth is that, at this point, we just don’t know. I just feel that a lot of blame gets heaped on anyone using the road who isn’t in a car. And very often that blame is misplaced, and ignores a driver’s own responsibility.
