East Falls, PA — A tree-trimmer was hospitalized following an accident in East Falls, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. The accident happened in the 3000 block of West School House Lane.
Arader Tree Service had come out to remove a diseased tree from the front of the Penn Charter School. The tree-trimming company deployed a bucket truck, with an employee inside the bucket. As the crane holding the bucket was lifted in the air. The truck tipped over and the worker was injured.
The man was taken to a local hospital for unspecified injuries. His name hasn’t been released.
No one else was injured in the accident.
Local authorities are currently investigating.

In these situations, workers’ comp is typically going to step in and cover things. As many know, WC will pay out benefits that can be used for lost wages, and things like that. However, one thing that can change this is the involvement of a third party. If a third party is involved in the accident in any way, they can face at least partial liability for the accident. In an accident involving a piece of machinery, I would want to know if it was defective in any way. If a defect led to the accident anyway, then the manufacturer may bear some of the liability. Obviously, further investigation here is needed.
