Sugarcreek, OH — A pickup truck in Sugarcreek drove into a workzone where some ODOT employees were working to clear a tree that had fallen into the road. Police said that this happened on Wednesday, May 27, and resulted in one worker being injured.
From the few details released by the news reports, it appears that the ODOT workers had set up a “Road Closed” sign and were working on clearing the tree when a man in a pickup truck disregarded the sign and drove into the work zone.
What happened next is unclear, but the truck either hit an ODOT worker or forced him to jump out of the way and injure himself in the process. In either case, the worker was injured, but not seriously.
The pickup truck driver did not stop, however, and fled the scene. The local police are searching for him.
