Winterville, NC — Police have identified 35-year-old Scott Yelverton as the man who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Winterville, North Carolina, on Thursday, May 28, 2015.
The accident took place around 11:30 at night, at the intersection of Davenport Farms Road and Thomas Langston Road. How the accident happened isn’t clear, but authorities say that speed may have played a role.
Reports say that the bike caught fire after veering off the road and crashing. Emergency workers transported Yelverton to Vidant Medical Center, where he passed away a short time later.
No other injuries have been reported.
