Lancaster, PA — Two people were hospitalized following an accident who police say was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The accident took place on Saturday, May 9, 2015, on Millersville Pike.
Police say that the victims’ were having car troubles and had parked on the road and had spoken with a man nearby about getting a jump. The man had gone inside his home and heard the sound of the collision moments later.
The victims were hit by a man identified as Shane Thompson. Thompson would later tell police that he had been drinking with some friends. His blood alcohol content was three times over the legal limit.
Originally, Thompson fled the scene of the accident. A passerby saw what happened, wrote down his license plate number, and gave it to police.
Both victim were hospitalized following the crash. Police have charged Thompson with DWI and leaving the scene of the accident, along with several other charges. The case is still under investigation.
