Hazel, KY — The authorities in Hazel and with the Kentucky State Police stated that two women were injured this past Wednesday (May 27, 2015) near the KY-TN border after an SUV and a semi-truck got into a wreck. This happened along U.S. 641 and the victims have been identified: 37-year old Bridgett Martin and 67-year old Emma Green.
According to the KSP, this accident happened on Wednesday afternoon, in the southbound lanes of U.S. 641.
Emma Martin was in the sleeper berth of a semi-truck that was being driven south on the highway by Mitchell Green (relationship not specified, but likely husband and wife). At the same time, Bridgett Martin was headed north on U.S. 641.
One of the vehicles lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic, where the SUV and the semi collided. The accident didn’t harm Mitchell Green, but both Bridgett Martin and Emma Green with injuries.
They were both taken to a nearby hospital and it appears that Martin’s injuries may have been a little more serious. The truck driver, Mitchell Green, told police that Bridgett Martin was the one who swerved into his lane, but that may need to be investigated a little further.
