Marquez, TX — The news reports for Leon County confirmed that at least three people were injured on Wednesday of this week (May 27, 2015) after a school bus and three other cars were in a wreck along Highway 79. Thankfully, none of the injures were serious or life-threatening.
This happened around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, in the southbound lanes of Highway 79.
Police said that a Buffalo ISD school bus was driving south on the highway that afternoon when a driver in the opposite lanes of traffic suddenly lost control and swerved into the bus’s lane. The car clipped the bus, caused another car to crash into a ditch on the side of the highway, then crashed into another car.
All in all, two people in the fourth car plus the driver who lost control of his car were taken to local hospitals. The driver of the out-of-control car appeared to be the most seriously hurt. No names were released.
Right now, the Texas DPS is investigating why the driver of that car lost control in the first place. Nobody on the Buffalo school bus was hurt.
