Commentary
The drivers of large vehicles like school buses are always going to be held to a higher standard for the simple fact that they transport people and are capable of causing a great amount of damage with only a single mistake. Luckily, there were no children inside the bus when this accident happened. What caused it? Was the bus driver just not paying attention to the road when he made the turn? It’s a little disconcerting, and makes you wonder if this is the first time he’s done something like this, or just the first time it’s led to an accident.
I’m assuming the school bus in question didn’t belong to a private school. If that’s the case, then it ultimately belongs to the state. Fortunately, many state governments have made it possible for a victim to be compensated should they be injured in an accident that involved a state-owned vehicle. However, these laws vary from state to state, so anyone involved in an accident will want to consult with experiences professionals to make sure they’re properly led through the process.
