Madison, WI — A woman was hospitalized after suffering critical injuries in a single-vehicle car accident in Madison, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, May 19, 2105. The accident took place near the intersection of Raymond Road and Reetz Road, around 7:15 in the evening.
Police investigating the accident say that the woman injured in the accident was speeding down Raymond when she crashed into a parked car. She then jumped a curb and drove into a ditch.
The woman’s name hasn’t been released. No other injuries have been reported.
It’s not clear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

It’s often the case that people look at accidents like this and assume it was caused by the driver, and the driver alone. It’s true that that happens, and happens often. But not all drivers are responsible for their own accidents. And in the past I’ve seen several accidents just like this one that happened for reasons that had nothing to do with the driver. The point is, until all the facts are in, passing judgement doesn’t really do anyone any good.
