Palm Coast, FL — A woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries after she was t-boned by a van in Palm Coast, Florida, on Friday, May 1, 2015. The accident took place at the intersection of Sesame Blvd. and Smith Trail, around 10:00 in the morning.
Horton was traveling north on Smith when a van being driven by Robin Best crashed into the side of her white Saturn, sending her off the road where she crashed into several small trees before being stopped by a palm tree. Emergency workers had to help extricate her from her vehicle before she was taken to a nearby hospital.
Best was driving with a 4-year-old and an 8-year-old at the time of the crash. They all suffered minor injuries and were taken to Florida Hospital Flagler.
Why Best wasn’t able to avoid Horton’s vehicle is unknown at this time. Police are currently investigating the crash.

I wish we knew a little more about what happened here. Best told police that Horton’s vehicle seemingly came out of nowhere, so it’s not clear if one of the vehicles was speeding, or if someone ran the stop sign at the intersection. Obviously, assigning liability for the crash is going to be tough until someone’s able to find answers to these questions.
