Bryant Farms Dump Truck Crashes on Highway 84 near Sonora, Kills Jamie Woosley

Sonora, KY — Police in Hardin County have confirmed the death of a man who was driving a dump truck near Sonora, 38-year old Jamie Woosley. They said that Woosley was killed when the dump truck he was driving got into an accident and then overturned.

This was last Friday afternoon, May 15, 2015 though the details of what took place aren’t very clear yet. The news said that Woosley had been driving a truck for Bryan Farms that day and was headed along Highway 84.

Woosley, from Caneyville, was trying to go down a hill in the dump truck when it suddenly lost traction and kept rolling down into an embankment. When Woosley’s vehicle hit the embankment, he was ejected from the driver’s seat of the dump truck and he died immediately.

The news reports don’t really say what happened to Woosley’s truck or why it didn’t slow down, but it’s possible more investigation might be needed here.

Sometimes, there are issues with defects and malfunctions, which have to be addressed with the manufacturer or occasionally even the owner of the vehicle in question.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
