Commentary
I’d be curious to know exactly how the timing of this accident played out. Of course, there are always going to be things that a driver has no time to react to, however, I’m not sure that would have been the case here, given what’s been reported. The vehicle that hit the victim was able to see his stopped car in the road, and moved into the other lane to avoid a crash. Now, a deer with a man crouched over it aren’t as big as a car, but they’re no insignificant thing. How well was the driver paying attention? If this is found to have been an accident that could have been avoided, it’s possible the driver could be held liable for it.
