Perez had been driving his Chevy truck that night when he somehow managed to reverse into a Hyundai along 30th Avenue that was trying to make a left turn. That driver, 48-year old Kevin Osterhout, was not injured but Perez sped away from the scene instead of stopping.
As he was fleeing, Perez accidentally crashed into Alex Galindo’s Suzuki motorcycle, trapping him underneath the front of his truck. Police said that Luis Perez fled for another 10 blocks or so until he got to 49th Street.
There, cops were able to stop him and free Galindo, who was immediately rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Perez, on the other hand, wasn’t harmed but was suspected of being under the influence. He has since been charged with multiple offenses, including DUI causing seriously bodily injury.
