Nicholasville, KY — According to the most recent news reports, a school bus outside of Nicholasville was involved in a wreck on Monday (May 11, 2015) in which four elementary school students were injured. Later, it was confirmed that none of the injuries were very serious.
The accident in question happened at about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Harrodsburg Road and Keene Road. According to the news reports, a school bus transporting Waynesburg Elementary School students back to school from a field trip.
As the bus tried to make a left turn onto Keene Road from Harrodsburg, an oncoming car crashed into it, causing the bus to hit another car stopped at the intersection.
Either the bus failed to yield to the oncoming car while making its left turn or the other car ran a red light, it’s not clear which.
Four students aboard the bus were hospitalized, but were released a short time later and were in good condition.
