Limington, ME — A local man had to be taken to a hospital but was thankfully not in serious condition after an accident with a tanker truck this past Sunday, May 3, 2015. Police identified the victim as Albert Werner, 69, and said that he was injured after his car was sideswiped by an empty tanker truck on Route 11.
This was last Sunday in the morning hours, when heavy fog surrounded the area. Werner had apparently been driving north along Route 11 that morning when he drove through the intersection with Route 25.
As he did so, his truck was hit by an empty tanker truck driven by 33-year old Standish resident John Hodges.
The accident left Hodges with minor injuries while Werner was taken to a hospital for more severe injuries. However, due to the heavy fog that morning, the police have been unable to determine how the accident took place, exactly, and are calling upon any witnesses to come forward.
