Philadelphia, PA — A utilities worker was hospitalized after being burned in an electrical accident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. The accident happened at the intersection of 51st and Woodland, around 11:00 in the morning.
The worker injured in the accident was working on a cable when it sparked, which caught his clothing on fire. The man’s co-workers were able to lower him to the ground, and the man was bale to put the flames on his clothes out himself.
Emergency workers took the man to Penn Presbyterian Trauma before he was transferred to the Temple Burn Unit. His name hasn’t been released. Reports say only that he is 53-years-old.
The full extent of the man’s injuries are unknown, although his co-workers say that it is severe. The accident is currently being investigated.
