Dallas, TX: Driver of SUV Injured after Crash into Guy Wires on Ross
Photo Credit: www.nbcdfw.comDallas, TX — A driver in a black SUV (possibly a Ford Explorer) was injured after they were involved in an accident earlier this week. Police said that on Monday afternoon, April 4, 2015, a black SUV lost control at the intersection of Hall Street and Ross Avenue. The SUV proceeded to leave the roadway and crash into a guy wire next to the bus stop at the aforementioned intersection. This is directly across the street from The Icon at Ross apartment building.
The driver of the SUV wasn’t identified, but their injuries were apparently not serious. The Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and said that nobody had to be taken vial ambulance or medical helicopter that afternoon.
The time of the accident was approximate 4:15 p.m. It’s not clear what caused the driver to lose control or if another vehicle was involved.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
