Philadelphia, PA — A 22-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition following a hit-and-run accident that took place on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The accident happened on Park Avenue, near the intersection of Diamond Street, around 7:30 in the evening.
The driver responsible for the accident — identified only as an 18-year-old boy who was driving with a learner’s permit — fled the scene of the accident, but turned himself in the following day, telling investigators he fled only because he had panicked and was scared.
He faces charges of fleeing the scene.
As of Thursday, April 30, Hall remained in the hospital in critical condition.

The driver responsible for this accident came back and turned himself into police, and I think that says a lot about his character. However, he still has to be held accountable for what he’s done. Why did this accident happen? Was the driver driving too fast? Was he paying attention to the road? If not, why not? All of these questions are going to have to be answered. In many cases — definitely not all of them — holding people accountable for these things really helps to ensure that the driver won’t make the same mistake twice.
