Camdenton, MO — A local woman from Camdenton was injured several miles west of the city earlier in February of this year after police say her car was in a head-on wreck with a semi-truck. Pamela Teter, 52, was identified as the woman who was injured and the semi-truck driver involved (who wasn’t harmed) was identified as Roy Leach, 36.
The accident took place at about 7:30 a.m. that morning, in the northbound lanes of Missouri Highway 7. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Teter had been driving a Dodge minivan south along the highway that morning while Leach was driving his International semi-truck north.
Just north of Route J, they collided in a head-on wreck after one of the vehicles crossed the center line and ended up in oncoming traffic. While Leach wasn’t hurt by the accident, Teter required a medical helicopter to airlift her to a Columbia hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries.
The accident is still being investigated, though no charges were ever filed and it’s a little unclear as to which vehicle lost control that morning. The MSHP seem to imply that Teter’s van may have been the one, but that’s not been confirmed.
