Ryan Bryson Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on I-70 in Montgomery County, MO

Montgomery County, MO — Police have identified Ryan Bryson as the man who was injured in a semi-truck accident in Montgomery County, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. The accident took place on Interstate 70, near mile marker 183, around 2:30 in the morning.

Reports say that Bryson was driving a tow truck belonging to Bud’s Towing when he crashed into the trailer or a semi-truck which was parked on the left side of the road. The force of the collision sent the tow truck off the right side of the road, where it came to a stop in a ditch.

The 25-year-old Bryson was injured in the crash and taken to Mercy Hospital in serious condition. Thomas Pettit, the driver of the semi, was not injured.

Police are currently investigating the accident.

The police report for this accident said that the semi-truck involved was on the left side of the road. Was it illegally parked? Commercial vehicles have very strict procedures they have to follow when pulling over. If they fail to do so, they can be held liable for any accident they cause. Keep in mind that going slightly onto the shoulder in and of itself isn’t going to hurt anyone or cause any damage. But if a vehicle is illegally parked, suddenly things begin to look very different. Obviously we’ve got some unanswered questions here, but it’s possible that fault for the accident lies with the semi-truck.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
