Amarillo, TX — A young boy riding his bicycle last Thursday morning in Amarillo had to be taken to the hospital, police said, after he was hit by a car along 16th Avenue. The boy wasn’t identified, but the news said he was 10 years old and suffered head injuries and broken bones as a result of the crash.
This was on April 23, 2015, according to the Amarillo Globe News.
It was a few minutes before 8:00 a.m. when the 10-year old boy was riding his bike along 16th Avenue at the intersection with Georgia Street. As the boy crossed Georgia on his bike, he was hit by 27-year old Jessica Fajardo, who was going south on Georgia in her GMC Terrain SUV.
The accident left the boy with serious injuries and he was rushed to a hospital. Later, police claimed that Fajardo may have had the right of way at the time, but haven’t said anything definitive yet.
