School bus drivers are held to a very high standard for a couple of reasons. One, they’re transporting our children back and forth to school and other events every day. And two, they’re capable of causing a lot of damage with only a single mistake. Unfortunately, whenever an accident like this happens, whether or not a driver should even be behind the wheel of a bus has to be called into question.

Luckily, the children involved in this accident weren’t injured. However, if they had been, state governments have provided ways for victims to receive compensation. These laws vary from state to state, so those involved in these accidents will need to make sure they’re educated on exactly what their state has said concerning the matter. Either that, or consult with experienced professionals. In Texas, for example, very strict deadlines have been set concerning paperwork that has to be submitted, and there are limits to the amount of compensation one can receive. Again, these laws will vary from state to state.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
