Commentary:
While we don’t have too many details to work on in regards to who may be at-fault for the accident, the news reported something interesting that many people would pass over and dismiss as unimportant, but it actually may bear a lot of weight on how the accident is handled. The news said that the bus was contracted by the local school district. Now, if the bus is found to have been at fault for the accident, that means the claim would be against a contractor company, and not the school district itself. This tends to be a good thing, as filing a claim against a government institution tends to be mired with miles of red tape, whereas the companies they hire to contract tend to be much more straightforward claims, as far as legal processes go. Again, this depends on how the accident unfolded, but the facts reported surely warrant a closer look.
