Robert Gall Critically Injured by Motorcycle-Car Accident in Amarillo, TX on 6th Ave

Amarillo, TX — There was an accident this week in Amarillo that involved a motorcycle and a Ford Mustang. Police identified Robert Gall Jr., 21, as the rider of the motorcycle and said that he was critically injured after his bike collided with Annette Vogt’s Ford Mustang.

The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon of this week, April 7, 2015 at about 3:00 p.m.

Gall had been riding his motorcycle eastbound on 6th Avenue that afternoon when he was somehow involved in a rear-end accident with Annette Vogt’s 2014 Ford Mustang. The news reports aren’t very clear, but it appears that Gall may hit the back of the Mustang, causing him to be very badly injured.

Vogt and her passenger, a minor, were not harmed by the accident. More investigation will hopefully be done so that more details can be released.

Commentary:

Some of the reports I read seemed to imply that the motorcycle here was at fault, but they didn’t have any kind of evidence or proof to back that up. Now, this accident may have been caused by excessive speed or reckless riding, but I know those are also stereotypes often applied to motorcycle riders regardless of their safety on the road. What I’m saying is that there’s a temptation for police officers to skip over things while investigating motorcycle accidents because there’s such a strong bias against them ingrained in our culture. Unfortunately, that doesn’t exactly make things fair for those who ride motorcycles, big or small.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
