Midlothian, TX — There was an accident in Midlothian this past Tuesday afternoon (March 31, 2015) that left one driver dead after his car rear-ended a utility truck on Highway 67. This happened near Dove lane, police said, at about 4:00 p.m. The driver who was killed wasn’t identified, but police said that they were in a black Mazda.
According to their reports, the Mazda was driving north on Highway 67 when it came upon a utility N-LINE Traffic Maintenance utility truck that was laying down tar and spacer joints on the road.
The truck allegedly had flashing lights and arrows signaling other drivers to change lanes, but the Mazda did not react in time and crashed into the back of the truck. The accident left the Mazda’s driver with critical injuries and that person later died.
More investigation is ongoing, since not many details are being released at this point. The news makes it sound like the utility truck was not in the wrong, which may be the case, but we simply don’t know much about what happened yet.
