Lomira, WI — Two people were hospitalized following an accident with an 18-wheeler in Lomira, Wisconsin, on Sunday, March 29, 2015. The accident took place on Highway 41, near the intersection of Highway 49, around 10:45 in the morning.
Officials identified 45-year-old Tammy Ragsdale as the driver of a Dodge Dakota. Ragsdale was traveling with 50-year-old Richard Ballwanz when she lost control of her vehicle and rolled into the median. The Dakota continued sliding into the oncoming lane of traffic where it was by a Freightliner 18-wheeler.
Emergency workers took Ragsdale to St. Agnes Hospital with serious injuries before transferring her to Thesa Clark Medical Center. Ballwanz was taken to Theda Clark.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was identified as Andrew Fritchen. He was not injured.
What caused Ragsdale to lose control of her vehicle is unclear at this time. The accident is still being investigated.
