Piedmont, MO — Two men were hospitalized following a delivery truck accident in Piedmont, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. The accident happened on Route B, about two miles west of Route U, around 5:15 in the afternoon.
According to local reports, Larry Winberry and his passenger Timothy Reed were driving a Hefner Furniture delivery truck along the road and Winberry drove off the right side of the road. Winberry then over-corrected, taking the truck off the left side of the road and into a grove of trees.
Both Winberry and Reed were taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. The truck was totaled in the accident, but reports say the injuries suffered by the two victims were minor.
The accident is currently being investigated.

The first question that needs to be asked here is, did the passenger inside the truck work for the furniture delivery service or not? If he did, then this accident will very likely be handled through the employer’s workers’ comp policy. If the man didn’t work for the furniture company, then it’s very possible that he would have a claim against the driver, as he is not covered by the workers’ comp policy. Hopefully, the investigation into the crash will shed a little bit of light onto this subject.
