Amarillo, TX — A 6-year-old child was severely injured in a single-vehicle car accident that took place on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. The accident happened on Interstate 27, between 4th Avenue and South Western Street, around 5:30 in the afternoon.
According to local sources, a vehicle carrying two adults and two children drove off the side of the interstate and down an embankment, into the parking lot of Reagor-Dykes Mitsubishi. The car hit several vehicles in the parking lot before overturning and coming to a stop.
A 6-year old inside the vehicle at the time suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The others inside the vehicle suffered only minor injuries. The names of those involved in the accident weren’t released.
Police are currently investigating the accident. At this time, what caused the crash is unknown.
