Shelby, MI — There was a fatal car accident reported last Sunday, February 15, that killed a Shelby man and badly injured a Troy man. Police don’t have any identities yet, but they said that this likely involved alcohol.
The accident in question happened at about 3:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, along 23 Mile Road. A 60-year old man in a Chrysler 300 was in a wreck with a 21-year old Troy man in a Mercury SUV along 23 Mile Road near Ryan Road.
It’s not clear who was at fault or what caused the wreck, but emergency response workers said that both men were trapped inside their cars when they arrived. After being taken to local hospitals as soon as possible, the Shelby man died from his injuries.
At the last update, the 21-year old Troy was being treated for severe injuries. Again, the police think that alcohol is a factor here, but haven’t confirmed that yet and haven’t mention which driver they suspect.
