On May 1 2008 Bruce Holman of Mansfield TX. pulledover to the side of the road to change a flat tire on his pick up truck.Another truck allegedly driven by  Randell Anderson crashed intoHolmans pick up severing his leg in the accident.

Anderson wasarrested on the scene for outstanding traffic violation warrants and for nothaving a valid driver’s license. However he was not charged in connection withthe accident that has forever changed Bruce Holmans life.

If youre going to have an accident with noinsurance and no drivers license I dont understand how one night in jail canjustify that Mr. Holman said. Compared to what happened to me onenight in jail doesnt justify that. Ive been laying here for a month now andhe just got one night in jail.

A note from attorney E. Michael Grossman:

This is pretty sad story but it also exemplifiesanother scenario in which hiring a personal injury attorney can be beneficial. At first glance it may appear that Mr. Holman is simply stuck withall of the medical expenses resulting from this accident since the other driverdid not have insurance. However a good personal injury attorney does not giveup that easily. There are still many possible avenues that a qualified personalinjury attorney could pursue that could result in Mr. Holman receiving someform of compensation for his injuries.

They may not all pan out but that is the beauty of thecontingency fee contract that my law firm employs for personal injury cases. The contract is designed in the best interests of our clients and someone inthis type of situation would have nothing to lose. Effectively the contingencyfee contract enables our clients to hire us to represent them and pursue anyand all possible means of recovery. If and when we make a recovery for them ourlegal fees are paid out of that recovery. However if we exhaust allpossibilities and are not able to make a recovery the client will owe usnothing.

Someone in Mr. Holmans position really only has thepossibility to contact the insurance company and hope for the best. With suchcatastrophic injuries it certainly is worth looking into any and all methods ofpotential recovery.

I truly hope Mr. Holman makes a speedy recovery andwish him and his family the best.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
