JACKSONVILLE, NC — Casandra Egolf was killed in a two-vehicle accident that was reported in Jacksonville, North Carolina on Saturday, October 11th, 2014. News sources say that the accident happened at about 9:30 Saturday morning.
49-year-old Casandra Egolf died when the vehicle she was driving was hit by another vehicle on Highway 258. The police said a car drove over the center lane of traffic when it struck the Egolf’s vehicle.
Paramedics that responded to the emergency call pronounced Egolf dead at the scene after the accident.
The driver of the offending vehicle was identified as Zachary Thebeau, who currently faces misdemeanor death by motor vehicle charges in connection with the accident.
The North Carolina State Police is still investigating at this time.
