Malden, MA — A man died this past Tuesday in Malden, Massachusetts, after falling off his bike and being run over by a garbage truck. The accident took place on Lynn Street. Police are still trying to identify the victim.
Witnesses to the accident say there was something strange about the man’s behavior while he was shopping in a convenience store just minutes before the accident took place. The man seemed to lose balance several times, and when asked if he was okay, didn’t seem to comprehend people’s questions.
When the man exited the store he got on his bike and rode out toward the street. Witnesses say he rode out into traffic without looking and fell over on the sidewalk, rolling beneath a garbage truck stopped at a red light. People tried to get the attention of the truck’s driver, but when the light turned green, the truck ran over the man, killing him.
Police haven’t been able to identify the man, and are asking those with any information to call them.
