Coke County, TX — The driver of an 18-wheeler sustained serious injuries after his truck went off the road and tipped over in Coke County, Texas, on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. The accident took place approximately nine miles north of Bronte, Texas, on Highway 277.
Local reports have identified Marquis Johnson as the driver of an 18-wheeler that lost control as he was driving around a curve in the road. Johnson drove off-road, rolling his truck before crashing through a wire fence and coming to a stop.
Roads were wet at the time and police believe that may have contributed to the accident.
Johnson was taken to Shannon Medical Center with injuries that are being described as incapacitating. Police have said that he’ll be ticketed for speeding.
