UNION COUNTY, NC — One person was killed in a chain-reaction accident in Union County, North Carolina on Wednesday, August 21st, 2014, according to the news article released by WSOCTV.
Police with details of the accident investigation say that one person died when a vehicle crossed into the lanes of oncoming traffic before hitting another car that was subsequently pushed into the lanes of oncoming traffic.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene when they arrived. Two other people were taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
