Nashville, TN — Two people, including the driver of an 18-wheeler, were sent to the hospital following an accident in Nashville, Tennessee, involving a car, a flatbed truck, and a fuel tanker. The accident took place on Old Hickory Blvd., around nine in the morning.
The accident caused the fuel tanker to drive down a 20 foot ravine. Teams had to be called in to transfer the 7,500 gallons of fuel the tanker was transporting. as well as tanks holding nitrogen and various other chemicals, before the truck itself could be removed from the ravine.
Emergency workers had to extricate the driver of the car, who had become pinned inside his vehicle in the accident.
The driver of the tanker, as well as another motorist were both taken to a nearby hospital.
Officials are currently investigating how exactly the accident happened.
