Upper Marlboro, MD — A woman was killed after being hit by a bus in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, on Thursday, July 31, 2014. The accident took place at the intersection of Main Street and Water Street, around 10:30 in the morning.
The victim of the accident has been identified as Patsy Burton. Police say Burton walked into an intersection where she was hit by a bus. The bus dragged Burton about 20 feet before a passerby was able to stop it.
Police say they’re handling the accident like a crime scene, as it seems Burton was correctly using the crosswalk and had the right of way.
The name of the bus driver has not been released.
