KAUFMAN COUNTY, TX — A two-vehicle head-on collision left two drivers dead in Kaufman County, Texas on Saturday, June 21st, 2014, according to NBC DFW.
Accident investigators believe that two people, a man and a woman were killed when a Ford Explorer and a Ford Focus collided head-on while driving on Highway 34 on Saturday afternoon.
Scene of the Accident
Both vehicles are believed to have caught fire after the accident. It is not clear if the occupants died on the scene, or at a nearby hospital after the accident.
The investigation is currently ongoing at this time.
Commentary:
Any time there is a fire after a crash, I always highly recommend a second, closer look at the evidence. Why? Because cars are designed with a number of safety features and crash survivability in mind. If a fire broke out after an accident, there would be a clear starting point, and from there were could determine what went wrong, and if a manufacturer defect made this accident worse than it needed to be. Nobody can say for certain until the wreckage is combed over by trained eyes.
