SANTA ANA, CA — A pedestrian accident sent a child to the hospital with critical injuries in Santa Ana, California on Sunday, March 30th, 2014, according to the news article from KTLA.
Police have said that they have reason to believe an as-of-yet unidentified 10-year-old child was hurt when they were struck by a vehicle when the child was walking along or trying to cross the road near the intersection of 17th Street and Cabrillo Park. The accident happened around 6:45 in the evening on Sunday.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries in the accident. The driver of the vehicle was identified in the report as 33-year-old Suray Leon, who currently faces drunk driving related charges in connection with the accident.
California State Police are currently handling the crash investigation.
