Elisha Owens, Velma Pena, Luis Zamarripa Hurt After San Antonio, TX School Bus Crash

According to San Antonio, TX news reports, a school bus crash on October 3, 2012 left Elisha Owens, 73, Velma Pena, 46, and Luis Zamarripa, 7, injured. Police said that Owens was driving the bus with Zamarripa as a passenger and Pena as an attendant at about 4:30 p.m. She was on I-37 near Houston Street when a vehicle swerved in front of her, causing her to lose control and crash through the interstate’s guardrails, falling about 20 feet. Luis Zamaipa, Velma Pena, Elisha Owens Hurt After School Bus Wreck in San Antonio, TX

Luis Zamapia, 7, Elisha Owens, 73, and Velma Pena, 46, were all injured in a school bus accident along Interstate 37 in San Antonio, TX on October 3, 2012. Police said that Pena was a passenger on Owens’ school bus when it was hit from behind by a vehicle. Witness claimed that it was an 18-wheeler, but police did not confirm any details.

After the collision, the school bus lost control and crashed through the highway’s guardrails, dropping almost 20 feet to the road below. Owens and Zamaipa were taken to a hospital with nonfatal injuries, but Pena reportedly needed surgery after the wreck. The cause of the accident was still being investigated.

Investigators for the Department of Health and Human Services are calling in to question the FDA’s ability to provide adequate enforcement for labeling laws for weight loss supplements and immune system boosting supplements.  The report released on Wednesday, states that twenty percent of the supplements reviewed by HHS had labeling that included illegal claims barred by federal regulation.

Nolan Hester Grady Crump Injured in Mineola, TX Tractor Accident

Nolan Hester and Grady Crump were identified by authorities as the two men injured in a tractor accident in Mineola, TX on September 28, 2012. According to El Paso, TX news reports, a woman and her children were injured on October 2, 2012. Martha Smilovitz was reportedly preparing to drive her vehicle, but put the car in neutral instead of park as she attempted to release the emergency brake, she said. Charles Kriedler Injured in Wichita Falls, TX Accident

According to local news reports, city worker Charles Kriedler was struck and injured by a car on September 30, 2012 while he was cleaning up the scene from a previous accident. Police said that Kriedler was at the intersection of Taft Boulevard and Kell Freeway at about 4:30 a.m. and was clearing debris from an earlier drunk driving accident when an SUV crashed into him. Alexis Lombrano and Dena Robinson Injured in San Angelo, TX Car Wreck
