On August 15 2008 two including Granvolee Hansard were injured in a Sherman TX. auto accident. The accident occurred as a 16-year-old driver turned into the path of an oncoming car on State Highway 11 at approximately 12 PM. The vehicles collided leaving both drivers injured. Hansard was transported to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old girl was flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas TX.

On July 28 2008 66-year-old Douglas A. Caris 66 was injured when his motorcycle was struck by an automobile. The accident occurred at the intersection of Glessner Ave. and Wood St. at approximately 7:20 PM. Caris was riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle when the driver of the other vehicle failed to obey a traffic signal causing the accident. Caris was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On July 22 2008 a worker for Chesapeake Energy fell into a gas well where he remained trapped for several hours. The accident occurred on Highway 171 between the towns of Cresson and Godley TX. The worker reportedly fell into a vertical shaft-like well known as a rat hole. The man fell approximately 60 feet and was trapped in the shaft upside down for close to three hours. Additionally the well may have been filled with noxious fumes from the nearby gas supply.
Rescue workers were able to successfully recover him from the tunnel by lowering a resuce worker down into the hole and hoisting both men out. The injured worker was transported by helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth TX.
On July 21 2008 in Brazoria County TX. a crane accident left one worker injured. The work related accident happened early Monday morning at a Mammoet facility in Rosharon TX.
Mammoet is a company that specializes in heavy lifting equipment. The worker is believed to have been struck in the head by a crane moving a heavy object. The worker injured in the crane accident was transported to a local hospital by helicopter.
On July 18 2008 a multi-car pileup in Longview TX. resulted in the injuries of 32 people. The accident resulted from wet conditions poor visbility and lane closures that cut the highway down to one lane. One woman had to be cut out of her vehicle after it rear ended an 18-wheeler and became lodged under the trailer. A small child was transported to a hospital in Tyler TX. by helicopter after suffering a fractured skull.
Fortunately no one died in the accident.
On June 28 2008 a skydiver in Houston TX was badly injured when according to witnesses his primary parachute failed to open. The skydiver was taking place in a skydiving festival of sorts known as the Dead Mans Boogie which is described as an event to honor the memory of those who have died while skydiving.
At approximately 700 feet the skydivers reserve parachute opened which slowed his fall. In spite of this he hit the ground with enough force to break numerous bones amongst other injuries.
On June 5 2008 a 34-year-old Texas Depertment of Transportation employee sustained life threatening injuries when a Cadillac driven by a Texas Judge slid off of the roadway crashing into him. The accident occurred on southbound Interstate 37 as the worker was fixing a directional sign. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
OnJune 20 2008 seven people were injured on a DART city bus in DallasTX. The cause of the accident is not yet known. The bus is said to havestruck a guardrail or barrier. Most of the injured complained of neckand back injuries.
A23-year-old Dallas man was cited for driving without a license after helost control of his vehicle and ran over four pedestrians on theevening of June 19 2008.
Two men ages 23 and 36 were taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas in critical condition.
A 22-year-old woman was taken to Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas inserious condition and a four-year-old boy was taken to ChildrensMedical Center Dallas for evaluation police said.
The driver was not believed to be intoxicated at the time of the accident.
On June 22 2008 a bus carrying 30 passengers rolled over in Arizona. the accident occurred as the bus driver lost control and then over corrected. Many of the 30 on board suffered injuries including three that were listed in serious condition.
The bus was returning to Tucson Arizona following a chruch function.
