Elko, NV – A young man was struck by a vehicle on Silver Street on December 7, 2015. The accident occurred Monday morning.
According to reports, a young man was attempting to cross Silver Street at 12th Street when he was struck by a vehicle, driven by Dawn Yvone Zaragoza.
The young man sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Dawn Yvone Zaragoza was not reported injured in the accident.
The accident is still under investigation. Zaragoza claimed she did not see the pedestrian because the sun was in her eyes.
Police reports show Zaragoza was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
