Cowiche, WA — The authorities in Yakima reported that a serious accident between a car and a semi-truck took place last Friday, leaving the car’s driver with serious injuries. Police said that it happened along Summitview Avenue, near the rural area of Cowiche.
According to their reports, a car was headed along Summitview Avenue that Friday morning (November 20, 2015) when the driver suddenly drifted into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with an oncoming semi-truck.
The accident caused the semi to swerve off the roadway and through a fence, driving into a nearby field. The truck and cab then caught fire, but the two people inside were able to escape and apparently were unharmed.
The car’s driver, however, was trapped inside his vehicle and was seriously injured. He had to be rushed to a hospital.
Right now, it’s unclear what caused the car to swerve that morning, but the police said they’d investigate some more.
