Lexington, KY – 2 people were injured when a car and an 18-wheeler collided on I-64, just west of Lexington, KY, Saturday morning.
From local reports we know that a car and a tractor-trailer collided on I-64, westbound. It appears that the car swerved into the path of the truck, causing the collision. The tractor-trailer pushed the car into the median, before bursting into flames. As a result of the accident, both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. At this time, there is no update on their conditions.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing, and currently there is no indication that intoxication or excessive speed played a role.
