Update [September 14, 2015: The man who was injured died on Wednesday night at a hospital. He was identified as Robert Reyes, 48 years old.
Austin, TX — Police in Austin have confirmed that a man believed to be in his 40’s was rushed to a hospital late Tuesday night (September 8, 2015) after a car-vs-pedestrian accident on Manchaca Road.
The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, near the intersection with William Cannon Drive and Manchaca Road.
Though the police haven’t released a lot of information so far, it appears that this man was walking across Manchaca Road when a southbound Lexus struck him. He was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, but he was not believed to be in a life-threatening condition. As of Wednesday, the police were trying to determine whether alcohol was a factor.
So far, it doesn’t appear that it is. No names have been released yet.
