Update [July 31, 2015]: The names of the family members hurt in the crash were reported by a local news source. Those who were injured in the crash include: Benjamin Garza, Jr., 42, and three of his children, Ian, 12, Matthew, 15, and Benjamin III, 19. Garza’s son Sebastian, 18, and the children’s mother, Josephine, 39, were not injured in the crash.
Abernathy, Texas — Four family members were injured in a rollover accident on Monday, July 27, 2015.
The family was traveling on Interstate 27 when it veered over into a ditch on the side of the roadway. According to local reports, the driver tried to regain control of the vehicle, but may have over-corrected. The SUV went into the center median and began to roll.
Three children were taken to a local hospital with injuries. A man was flown to a Lubbock hospital with life-threatening injuries. The children’s mother and one other child were not hurt.
