Commentary
Many people don’t realize this, but if you’re ever hit by someone while out driving, that person is under no legal obligation to make things right with you. Unfortunately, victims of accidents like this are put into a position in which they’re forced to initiate communication with an insurance company, file a claim, and anything else that may be involved in that process. Unfortunately, many believe that the other driver’s insurance will get in touch with them, or that some similar protocol is put in place that will help them when an accident like this happens. That’s not the case, and that’s why it’s important that people involved in these sorts of accidents educate themselves on how they’re handled. Many people have been left with medical bills and worse with no relief, all because they were unfamiliar with that process.
