Upperco, MD — Two people were injured in a box truck accident that caused considerable damage to a nearby house in Upperco, Maryland, on Thursday, January 29, 2015. The accident happened on Hanover Pike, near the intersection wit Emory Road.
Police say that around 10:00 in the morning, a box truck and a car traveling in opposite directions collided with each other. Police are currently investigating the accident, and have said what caused the two vehicles to collide is unclear, and that they do not yet know who’s at fault.
After the collision the truck crashed into a house standing next to the road, driving about 15 feet into it. Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles until emergency workers arrived on the scene and were able to extricate them. Both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Their current condition is unknown, and their names were not released.
The house is currently being inspected to make sure it’s structurally sound. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
