LAKE FOREST, CA — One person was taken to the hospital with critical injuries after an accident at a Midas Auto Center in Lake Forest, California on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. The news said that the accident happened just minutes before 8:00 Tuesday morning.
An employee of Midas Auto Center near Rockfield Boulevard was seriously hurt when he was struck by a vehicle. Police think that the worker was guiding a customer into the garage when he was struck by the vehicle and dragged over a floor lift.
The worker was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.

Commentary:
With this particular accident, some may look over the facts and assume that this will be a situation where workers’ compensation will be the remedy, but for the most part, any alternative to a workers’ compensation system would be better for the victim. In this particular case, the claim may not be against the employer via workers’ comp, but against the driver of the vehicle that struck him. This isn’t terribly different than when road construction workers are hit by a car, while they can file for workers’ compensation, in my experience, making a claim against the driver that struck them tends to be much more favorable for victims.
