Commentary
Often, accidents like this one will come down to a matter of timing. Of course, there are things to consider like yielding the right of way, but even if a vehicle moves into another’s lane of travel, that doesn’t give that vehicle carte blanche to run into it. A few questions to consider are how long the Murano had to react before the accident occurred. Two seconds would be no time at all, and the driver of the Murano would basically have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. If it was ten seconds, well, that’s a different story. How long was the SUV in the road before the collision occurred? Hopefully the police will be able to answer a few of these questions in the coming days.
