Bridgeport, TX — One person was killed after the vehicle she was riding in was hit by a suspected drunk driver at the intersection of U.S. 380 and Farm Road 1658 in Bridgeport, Texas, on Sunday, July 27, 2014. The accident took place around 12:30 in the afternoon.
Police say a pickup truck was traveling along 380 and ran a stop sign, hitting a vehicle traveling through the intersection from 1658. Police arrested the driver of the pickup.
Inside the second vehicle were a man and a woman. After emergency workers extricated the man from the vehicle, he was taken to a local hospital. A woman in the vehicle was going to be airlifted to a nearby hospital, but died at the scene.
The names of those involved have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
